Y-Winners Basketball
This is a 10 week season that will focus on the basic skills of basketball. Children ages 5-12 will be given the opportunity to develop and improve their skills. This league has been re-designed to teach the game of basketball while providing a competitive learning experience. Our focus is on fair play, sportsmanship, and player development. This is the best league for first time as well as veteran players. Practices will be weekly. Games will be on Saturday mornings/afternoons at the Tri-County YMCA Gymnasium.

Season: Fall 2012

This 10 week season will focus on the basic skills and rules of soccer. Children ages 4-12 will be given the opportunity to develop and improve their skills. Hoops with Hutch
Hoops with Hutch consists of individual or small group workouts with former Winfield High School and West Virginia State University basketball player Todd Hutchinson. He will teach, train, and condition the participants to the best of their abilities. The workouts will consist of offensive, defensive, team building, and conditioning skills. These workouts will be designed to take their game to the next level!

Y-Winners Spring Soccer
This new spring league will allow athletes to continue making progress in their soccer skills throughout the year. This spring league is perfect for preparing those looking forward to fall soccer. This 10-week league for children ages 4-12 focuses on the fundamentals of the game through fair play and sportsmanship. Team practices and games will be held weekly at the YMCA Camp High-Tor. Lower divisions can expect to learn what soccer is all about as well as begin to develop the skills necessary to be a skilled soccer player. Upper divisions can expect healthy competition that will push them to improve their skills in order to stay ahead of the competition.

Martial Arts
Traditional and Olympic styles of Tae Kwon Do will be offered twice a week throughout the year in the gymnasium at the Main Facility. Class size is limited. Ages 5+. Instructor Larry D'Alessio is a 6th degree black belt and two time national champion with over 30 years experience in Tae Kwon Do. Payments are due at the 1st class of each month.

T-Ball
This new longer season will give your athlete plenty of time to learn the basic skills of hitting, throwing, catching, and base running. This 10 week league will allow for true learning and progression throughout the season. Athletes who are 4 to 6 year olds will take three pitches from a coach and then hit from a tee. This begins to teach them the hand eye coordination necessary for baseball at higher levels. Weekly and all games will be played on Saturdays at YMCA Camp High-Tor. Volunteers needed for coaching.

Coach Pitch Baseball
This 10 week league is designed to give players a league where they can begin to compete in baseball. This league also offers 6 year olds an upper level option. Players here will only receive pitches from a coach. The skills learned to this point will be further developed with a more challenging league. This league is perfect for those looking to move up little league in the future. This league for 6 to 8 year olds will take place at the Camp High-Tor facility. Practices will be weekly and all games will be played on Saturdays after T-Ball games.

Home School Physical Education
This program is designed to provide home school students with quality physical education. Students will participate in activities which emphasize the YMCA youth sports philosophy of “Everybody plays…. Everybody Wins!” This is a structured program which allows youth to learn and develop skills while having fun. This includes basketball, soccer, football, baseball, and swimming. 10 participant minimum.

Youth Dance
This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to the skills and techniques that will give them and advantage in their future with dance. The class will be taught in a structured and fun environment. The classes will teach tap, jazz, and ballet. We are excited to offer this new summer program and hope you will allow your child an opportunity to experience the excitement of dance with us!

Y Challenger Soccer
The Tri-County YMCA Challenger program for children and young adults with special needs shines as an example of how participating in healthy activities can result in not only improved physical fitness but also personal growth, fun and friendships. Individuals 5-22 or the completion of high school with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through recreational and social opportunities. Games will be played on Saturdays in the Tri-County YMCA gymnasium. Game times TBD. All players will receive a uniform and trophy.

Players must be at least 5 years of age as of 4/1/2012. Players are eligible through their 22nd birthday or completion of high school.

Buddy volunteers, if needed, must be provided by the participant family and must be at least 15 years of age as of 4/1/2012.

Skills Programs
These programs consist of 6 weeks of skill development. Basic knowledge of the sports will be taught. Participants can expect to work through drills pertaining to each respective sport. Coaches will focus on improving skills and challenging participants to push themselves to new heights in their sport. All Skills Program classes will be 45 minutes in length.

Basketball
Beginner (ages 4-6) - Gym 1 5:30pm
Intermediate (ages 7-9) - Gym 1 6:30pm
Challenge* (ages 10-12) - Gym 1 7:30p

Challenge Class: ONLY for those who are well experienced in their sport. The skills of these athletes will be challenged through more intense drill workouts and conditioning.

Fall Flag Football
This is the premier flag football league in the area. Our 10 week season will focus on the basic skills and game play of football. Children ages 5-12 will be given the opportunity to develop and improve their skills. This league has been re-designed to teach the game of football, while providing a safer environment. Athletes will be able to easily transition into tackle football with the skills they will develop in this league. Our focus is on fair play, sportsmanship, and player development. This is the best league for first time players as well and veteran players. Practices will be weekly. Games will be on Saturday mornings/afternoons at YMCA Camp High-Tor.

Season: Summer/Fall 2012
