The Tri-County YMCA would like to introduce to you the Tri-County YMCA Wild Waves Competitive Swimming Program. The Wild Waves were founded by Dr. Aaron A. Settle, ATC, CSCS, a local professor of exercise physiology and ASCA Level 4 Swimming Coach with 19 years of coaching experience in October of 2007. In our brief history, our program has already produced YMCA Zone Qualifying swimmers, YMCA National Qualifying Swimmers, USA Swimming Zone Qualifying Swimmers and USA Swimming National Age Group Champion Qualifiers. In addition to the individual success found in our program, our TEAM has progressed from 14th place (2008) to 8th Place (2009) in the South Eastern Ohio/West Virginia YMCA Regional Swimming Championship Meet. Furthermore, after ONLY 6 months of competing as a registered USA Swimming Club the team finished a strong second place in the West Virginia Short Course State Championship Swimming Meet while competing against clubs with excess of 30 years experience.

Our swimming program provides swimming opportunity in the YMCA League and USA Swimming, in addition, our program provides a team oriented atmosphere for all swimming abilities and interest levels, from novice to national level. Furthermore, we provide an atmosphere for the most optimal ability progression that stresses the most up-to-date stroke technique, scientifically designed training for the advanced swimmers, continuous assessment, positive reinforcement, commitment and personal responsibility. Our program relishes the life of swimming inquiry and embraces new research and swimming biomechanical changes brought forth in the world of swimming by its governing body United States Swimming and nationally recognized universities of level I research.
