Instructional Basketball
Tri-County YMCA’s Instructional Basketball is for beginners just starting out or for the youngster who wants to improve their skills. Coaches work with children to teach basic ball handling skills, passing techniques, proper shooting, dribbling, teamwork, and most of all – having fun on the court at our gym in the main facility in Scott Depot.
Registration deadline is Friday, April 25, 2008 and the session will run from April 25-May 30 every Friday. Times

Y-Winners T-Ball
Our T-ball program is a great experience for children ages 4-6 years who want to learn basics of our favorite pastime – including hitting, throwing, catching, base running, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Each player receives a t-shirt and end of season reward. Come on out to the ballfield this spring and join us in this fun time for the whole family!

YMCA Martial Arts
Tri-County YMCA is proud to offer a top quality martial arts program led by instructor Larry D’Allessio, who is a sixth degree black belt and two time national champion with over 28 years experience in Tae Kwon Do. This program will offer Traditional and Olympic style instruction in classes that will take place at the Camp High-Tor Lodge. Both beginners and experienced martial arts enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. Registration is available at any time but fees are due at the beginning of each month.
Class Times:
Tuesday / Thursday 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
*Current program participants must register on a MONTHLY basis.
**A one time uniform fee of $25.00 is due before the first class.
Tri-County YMCA youth sports programs are designed to promote growth in body, mind, and spirit; encourage participation through family involvement; low-level competition and an emphasis on fun, safety, teamwork, fair play, and skill development.
Eight concepts make up the philosophy of youth sports and our goals and objectives are based on certain beliefs about youth sports that make it worthwhile for all involved!

Spring Flag Football
Youth ages 6-14 are encouraged to come out and join us on the football field! This league focuses on fair play, sportsmanship and football fundamentals. Each player will receive a jersey and an award at the end of the season. This program is for both boys and girls who participate in 5 on 5 team play. All games are played on Sunday afternoons at our Camp High-Tor soccer field.

Instructional Outdoor Soccer
Our Instructional Soccer program is a great way to get the kids outside this spring! Like our other instructional sports, this program focuses on teaching the basics of the game for ages 4-7 such as dribbling, passing, defense and working together with the team. Each participants receives a t-shirt. Classes run for 6 weeks and our held at the Camp High-Tor soccer field. Please note that this is an instructional program and not a league.

Youth Strength Training
This class is designed to instruct youth in the proper use of cardio and selectorized equipment, but not in free weight training. Members ages 12 to 13 should register and this class is a prerequisite for members under 14 years of age who wish to use the wellness center.
Participants who successfully complete the course will be issued a card that will be on file at the Member Services desk. Youth Strength Training graduates do not have access to the free weight area without the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. Class size is limited to 6 participants and participants must attend both the Saturday and Sunday classes.
