Child Care Watch
Tri-County YMCA offers Child Watch, a babysitting program available for children ages infant through 11 years of age. While parents or guardians participate in YMCA programs and activities, children are placed in a safe environment where they interact with others in creative and developmental activities. Parents and guardians with children under 9 months of age are asked to notify the YMCA 24 hours in advance of using Child Watch. Parents or guardians must be in the facility while their child is in Child Watch. Fees are listed below.
Member Fee
$2.00 for first child
$1.00 for each additional child
$3.00 for infants (under the age of 12 months)

Day Care Program
The Tri-County YMCA Day Care Program is located at the YMCA Day Care Center for ages 30 months through 3 years and offer full and part time schedules. Children must be fully potty trained. The YMCA uses Creative Curriculum, which is a nationally accredited academic curriculum for the day care program. Activities and services provided include health and physical education, arts & crafts, character education, Spanish, two outdoor play areas, snacks and a hot lunch which are all administered by a qualified and caring staff. We also offer 5 “free” days per year from September through August to hold your child’s spot when they are absent due to vacation or illness. Enrollment Information
A one time non-refundable enrollment fee of $30.00 must be included with the enrollment packet. Each child enrolled must also have an immunization record, birth certificate, and a copy of well-baby checkup.

Hours of Operation
The Tri-County YMCA Child Care hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The child care center will be closed and no payment will be due for the following holidays:

If Putnam County Schools close due to weather before the start of the school day, Tri-County YMCA will offer child care for students grades Kindergarten through 5th at the main facility in Scott Depot. Parents can pay at the Member Services Desk when children are dropped off and all children must bring a lunch and a drink.

Please note that if a state of emergency is in effect, the YMCA Snow Day Program will not operate.
Vacation Days
On faculty senate days and school holidays, Tri-County YMCA offers full day child care for students grade Kindergarten through 5th at the main facility in Scott Depot or at Camp High-Tor. Field trips are usually taken to local sites. Children must be pre-registered and must bring a lunch and a drink.

After School Program
The Tri-County YMCA Afterschool Program provides youth in Putnam County a place to go after school where they are cared for by our trained staff. This program strives to help children develop to their full potential by focusing on self-awareness, confidence, academic achievement, physical skills, and modeling the four traits of YMCA character development: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. All staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross and are trained by the YMCA in age appropriate activities and child abuse prevention. Staff members undergo complete background checks and are selected for their ability to work with children.
Daily activities include homework help, arts and crafts, character development, health snacks, physical fitness, and group games. This program starts at the end of the school day and runs until 6:00 p.m. at all locations.

For members only, a discount of 10% will be given to families with 2 or more children who are registered in the program on a full time basis.
The YMCA strives to offer financial assistance to anyone in need. Scholarships are available to any of those who qualify. Please contact the main Tri-County YMCA office at 304-757-0016 for more information or to receive an application.
Pre-Kindergarten Program
The Tri-County YMCA PreK Program is located at the YMCA Day Care Center for children of 4 years of age. Children must be fully potty trained. The PreK program is a collaboration with Putnam County Schools and also follows Creative Curriculum, which is a nationally accredited academic curriculum for the day care program. Reimbursement will be given from the Putnam County Board of Education for the 4 year old PreK program only. Enrollment packets and more information are available at the Member Services Desk or by calling 304-757-0016 or 304-757-5977.
